History of education

It arises from Word War II and its main characterisic is a movement of deep Christian roots that seeks answer to the existencial problem of man. Education becomes an exercise of awareness of personal and social reality to eradicate illiteracy and ignorance, which enslave the poorest social classes, in order to acheve personal and social change. The main purpose of education es to transmit values and prepare the human being to commit to those values. The mains representative author is Freire, who was a pedagogue. He supports the dialogue principle and it taught  new way for the relationship between teachers and students.

Deschooling proposes an education alternative of homeschooling. It doesn't mean to stop learning and it is ilegal here in Spain. It is not a recipe. Unscooling is a way of looking at children and at life. There are soe relevant authors like Ival Illich and Paul Goodman. Ivaln Illich replace the schools as a large knowledge bank by echonological institution in which everyone would have credit. Paul Goodman moves away from de reality of technological theories.

Today we have gone to the museum of education, which is on the Complutense University. It has been so interesting because we have seen lot of things that were so interesting like methods that where used in the schools many years ago. Then, we have gone to another room there we have seen some things about Monessori like the practical things they used such as the bottles with different smells. Also we have seen things like how students studied the different parts of the world . Finally, weh have seen the rules of teachers in the past, they were really hard, specially for women.

Today our partner Pablo has spoken to us some of the methodologies that are innovate and he has told about Montessori because tomorrow, we are going to go to the museum of the education where they will told us about him.

Today it has been the turn of the enlightenment.  It is the cultural time that took place in Europe during the XVII-XVIII centuries and also it is one of most important periods of time. They were interested in: -          -    The Change and the economic reactivation -          -    Criticism of some aspects in the social reality -           -    Interests in the new liberal politic ideas -           -    Improvement of the education system Only wealthy noble and women could be educated. -         Today, have been the turn of Education in Rome.       They have told as things like the following: The mother gave basic knowledge until 7. Today it has been our turn. We have spoken about Education in Greece. First of all, we have done a review of greece's context and background. Then, we have spoken about the context and methodology. In greece, was given grammarian, musical education, gymnastic and pederasty. Then, we have spoken about education in Sparta and in Athens. Some representative authors like Plato, The Sophists, and Aristotle and to conclude we have spoken about the movement at the present. When we had ended the theoretical part, we have done a kahoot where we have done some questions about the theoretical part to our partners.

Today, our partners have begun exposing his work. They have done the Ancient Civilizations (Ancient India, Ancient Egypt and ancient Mesopotamia). It has been so much fun because at the beggining, they have distributed a few glasses 3d and with our phones, we have been seind some interesting things about Egypt like some pyramids and it has been so funny.
